About the artist - Penny Healey - http://pennyhealey.com/
Penny Healey is a Suffolk based artist who completed BA Hons Fine Art at Ipswich College of Art in 2007 and subsequently joined The Sudbourne Park Printmakers Studios in Suffolk, learning about and experimenting with a wide range of printmaking methods. From 2008 – 2009 she was in residence at the Suffolk School of Arts as part of the AA2A scheme, which concluded with Parameters, an exhibition held at The Waterfront Gallery at UCS, alongside three other artists on the scheme. Her work took the form of a large monoprint installation, which explored the merging of the new university with the old Ipswich dock area resulting in the architectural re-configuration being echoed by the presentation of the re-configured prints.
Currently, she continues to explore the notion of ‘reconfiguration’ within her printmaking practice, by using strong abstract forms based on fragments taken from previously constructed digital or drawn images.
She is also a founding member of ANON, a new Suffolk-based collaborative art group.
