Ross Burkitt
Solicitor

Ross studied Law at Leicester University and completed the Legal Practice Course at Nottingham Law School. He was admitted as a solicitor in 1998 and since qualification has gained wide experience of acting for private individuals and for corporate clients in a range of civil disputes. He spent several years specialising in commercial dispute resolution, initially with Shoosmiths at their head office in Northampton and subsequently with Birketts LLP in Ipswich. He joined the litigation department at Kerseys in 2010.
Specialist Expertise
Ross advises on a broad range of contractual disputes and contentious property matters. He has extensive experience and knowledge of High Court and County Court litigation practice and procedure, but is also experienced in alternative dispute resolution techniques, mediation in particular.
Recent Successes
- Acting for the beneficiary of an estate worth in the region of £900,000 in High Court proceedings, successfully defending claims made against the estate in respect of alleged testamentary incapacity.
- Success at trial in a high value County Court claim involving allegations of fraud and undue influence.
- Acting for a property development company in a dispute with a sub-contractor over payment of fees incurred in connection with a substantial development project.
Personal Interests
Family life with partner and two young children. An avid music fan and a keen musician (guitar and violin).
